PROGRAM:
Day 1: Meet the guide for an introductory session and equipment check. Transfer to Santa Caterina Valfurva (SO) and the Forni parking lot at 2,174 m. Depending on snow and weather conditions, an itinerary will be chosen among Cima dei Forni Orientale (3,247 m), Cima Branca (3,100 m), or Cima di San Giacomo (3,276 m). Return to the hut for dinner and overnight stay. Elevation gain: 1,000–1,100 m – Difficulty BSA
Day 2: Ascent to Pizzo Tresero (3,594 m). From the Forni parking lot, follow the valley floor toward the Forni Glacier, keeping to the right until reaching the base of a prominent couloir descending from the right near Isla Persa. Climb to the glacier, then veer right to reach the snow slope connecting Pizzo Tresero to Cima di San Giacomo. Turn left for a final steep section to reach the southeast ridge. Leave skis and continue on foot along the easy ridge to the panoramic summit. Descend via the ascent route or optionally via Cima San Giacomo’s descents. Day 3: Ascent to Punta Cadini (3,524 m). From the Forni parking lot, head east through the Valle del Ghiacciaio dei Forni, ascending southward along the center to 3,000 m. Veer southeast to avoid crevasses until reaching the steep slope between 3,100 and 3,300 m. For easier slopes, reach Colle Cadini heading SSW, then follow the NE ridge on the southern side, walking the final section along remnants of wartime paths. Descend via the ascent route or optional variants and return to the parking lot. Elevation gain: 1,360 m – Difficulty; BSA – Aspect: N
INFORMATION: The best routes will be chosen based on snow conditions and your physical and technical level to ensure a rewarding experience. During the outings, participants can improve individual technique, learn to move confidently in the mountains, and deepen knowledge for avalanche risk prevention.
Physical level required: Good physical and mental condition, accustomed to consecutive days of spring ski touring.
The fee includes: Logistical organization, guidance and instruction by a certified Alpine Guide, use of shared safety equipment.
The fee does not include: Transfer costs, lifts, meals and accommodation for the Alpine Guide, and anything not listed under “The fee includes.”
