Aiguille d’Entrèves: Mixed Ridge Adventure

The Aiguille d’Entrèves forms the divide between the Gigante Glacier and the Toula Glacier. This fantastic ridge can be climbed in either direction, with varying difficulties depending on the route, and climbing sections up to grade V that can be easily protected. It is a long, exhilarating climb offering great satisfaction if done individually, and makes an excellent first-day climb as preparation for other ascents. The ascent can be completed in a single day.

PROGRAM: Meet the guide and transfer to Courmayeur. Equipment review and ascent via the Punta Helbronner cable car (Skyway). Traverse the passage between the Petit and Grand Flambeau and bypass the Aiguille de Toula to reach the glacier up to Col d’Entrèves. From here, the spectacular ridge offers breathtaking, sky-high experiences. Return to Rifugio Torino and descend via cable car.

Elevation gain and loss: 400 m Estimated time: approx. 6 hours

Climb information: Exposed mixed and rock ridge, with only a couple of grade IV sections; spits are present in the more difficult passages. Difficulty: AD

Requirements: Good physical fitness and basic experience with ice axes and crampons

The fee includes: Logistical organization, guidance and instruction by a certified Alpine Guide, use of shared safety equipment

The fee does not include: Transfer costs, lifts, meals, accommodation for the Alpine Guide, and anything not specified under “The fee includes.”
