Activity objective: to learn the foundational teaching and technical skills of climbing, develop climbing technique, and practice the use of safety devices.

  • What to bring to the crag: overview of equipment and accessories from ropes to carabiners

  • Setting up climbs: bolts, fixed anchors, resin anchors, and belay stations

  • Belay knots

  • Lead and second climbing techniques

  • Climbing commands

  • Rope management and storage

  • Use of belay devices

  • Belaying the leader and second

  • Rappelling

  • Lead climbing

  • Proper clipping techniques

  • Falling techniques

  • Rescue maneuvers

  • Climbing technique: general principles, movement patterns, fundamental positions and progressions, triangle positions and progressions

Location: crags in the provinces of Como and Lecco

Duration: 4 days Season: spring and autumn

Prerequisites: none

Required equipment: helmet, harness, and climbing shoes. Equipment rental is available.

The fee includes: logistical organization, instruction, and accompaniment by a Mountain Guide; use of shared safety equipment.

The fee does not include: transfer costs, lifts, meals, and accommodation for the Mountain Guide, and anything not specified under “the fee includes.”
