Summer Mountaineering Course – Learn to Climb Confidently in the High Mountains
Step into the world of high-altitude mountaineering and develop the skills to move safely and confidently on glaciers, ridges, and adventurous terrain. Over four days, this course combines technical instruction, hands-on practice, and real alpine experience.
What you will learn:
Understanding and managing the high mountain environment
Proper use of equipment and materials
Building and managing the safety chain
Essential knots: tying, belay, self-belay, joining, and autoblocking
Anchors and protection: fixed, movable, and natural
Setting and managing belay stations
Rope team techniques on glaciers and mixed terrain
Team progression on pitches and equipped trails
Rappelling and crevasse rescue
Snow anchors and pulley systems
Advanced movement techniques: crampon walking, self-arrest, and slipping
Route planning: analyzing snow and weather conditions, terrain, and human factors
Duration: 4 days Prerequisites: good physical fitness, able to sustain 7 hours of mountain activity per day with 1,200 m of positive elevation gain
Required equipment: Helmet, harness, 12-point steel crampons, ice axe (min. 60 cm), kevlar slings (4 m × 5.5 mm, 2 × 3 m × 5.5 mm), 1 self-belay sling (1.3 m × 5.5 mm), 3 D-shaped screwgate carabiners, 2 HMS screwgate carabiners, complete belay system with friction device and carabiners.
The fee includes: full logistical organization, instruction, and accompaniment by a certified Mountain Guide; use of shared safety equipment.
The fee does not include: transfers, meals, accommodation, ropeways or lifts, and anything not explicitly listed above.
